In a large-scale inauguration ceremony, the Meiselocker found its home on the Place Saint Etienne. Today, with a birdcage in one hand and a flute in the other, the bronze youth goes hunting for tits between the half-timbered houses. In the past, city boys went to the Rhine Forest or Lerchenfeld. The Alsatian inscription on the base lets us know that anyone who has never been to tit catching is not a real boy. The boys not only earned their first spurs, but also earned additional income by selling the birds they caught.
