There used to be a city palace on this square, which was destroyed by fire in 1769 and the market for poultry and herbs took place here. This was quickly followed by houses that lined the market with small doors (according to the legend of dwarfs and court jesters from the bishop's court).
The market was named after the creator Marcel Gayot.
Tip: In addition to the rush of tourists from the nearby cathedral, you can find a little peace and quiet in a café.
