View of Lake Wannsee

The Strandbad Wannsee is one of the largest open-air swimming pools on an inland waterway in Europe. It is located on the eastern shore of the Great Wannsee, a Havel foothill in Berlin.
The lido is located south of the island of Schwanenwerder (address: Wannseebadweg 25) in the district of Berlin-Nikolassee in the district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf and is managed as an urban swimming pool by the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe. It was opened in 1907 as a so-called family bathroom and has 1275 m of sandy beach. With a total area of 355,000 m² (including 130,000 m² of water surface), it has a capacity for 12,000 bathers (at peak times a maximum of 30,000) - of which around 10 to 15% are in the nudist area.
