    At the end of 2024, there will be a working mill again in Sint-Amands (Puurs-Sint-Amands). The historic Gansakkermolen from 1797 was originally located in Geel, but will soon be restored and rebuilt in Sint-Amands. During Open Monument Day, everyone could visit the future site where the Mill Museum is now located.

        The Gansakkermolen, built in 1797 by Gilliam Keersmaeckers, was originally located in Geel. It is a corn and malt mill that remained operational for centuries and became a protected monument in 1981. However, the mill fell into disrepair, especially after the sails were damaged during a storm in 1990. Moreover, the mill hardly caught any wind in the city centre of Geel. In 2014, the Royal Society for Nature and Urban Beauty (KVNS) therefore decided to restore the mill to its former glory and give it a new location here, near the spot where the Scheldemolen - later also called the Koutermolen - stood until 1903. This wooden corn windmill was built in the thirteenth century along the Scheldt, a bustling trading place.
