There is an interesting limestone rock formation right here on the north shore of Muckross Lake. On closer inspection, you can even see some fossils that indicate that the rock was once a marine sediment.

I did this tour ten years ago, so I am not entirely sure where the formation was and Lightroom refused to match my photos with the gps track. Therefore, the location is to my best recollection on the Northern shore of the Lough and is almost hidden at the base of an outcrop just off the shore. I guess it might be the peninsular on the map just south of where the location is shown on the map. Access might depend on water levels. Well worth a look if you can locate it. Its quite small, you have to get on your hands and knees so its not another Antelope Canyon.
