The Nuenens Broek is a nature reserve northwest of Nuenen of approximately 50 hectares. This used to be a swamp area. The soil contained Brabant loam, which is impermeable to water. In the ditches one sees a characteristic orange-brown color, which indicates the presence of iron. Here you will also find the water violet.
