The route always runs along the "Nice Lakes" hiking world. You don't actually need Komoot at all, because the path is very well signposted. There are some places to stop off the route. We recommend the farmers' cafe at the Sassenfeld nature protection farm. This is always open on weekends. (Closed until January 10th). The nature reserve is worth visiting. The lovingly designed information garden is well worth the short detour. If you want to eat well - but not cheap - you are in good hands at the Lüthemühle. All in all, it was a nice tour with unfortunately typical Lower Rhine dirty weather.

Even if it looks like a city tour, large parts always go along the water along narrow paths. Appropriate footwear is popular in wet weather ;-) The Ophover mill is open until 2:00 p.m. and then again from 5:00 p.m. and is highly recommended. The Holtmühle is currently closed.

We adjusted the actual hike a bit because the way back was too straight for us.
There was already ice on the ponds today, and the children had a great time with pines or small stones punching holes in the ice.
Refreshments are not available on the direct route. Only at the Bezoekerscentrum De Meinweg, there is a brasserie, but on foot, this is about 2km in each direction on top.
At the section where two paths are fairly close in parallel, a Komoot leads to a narrow bridle path. Since the riders gallop past here, it is better to use the wider hiking and cycling path.
It was a wonderful and varied hike through forest and heath landscapes.
