The 10.5 kilometer long Lohne runs exclusively between the Lower Saxony inland lake Dümmer and the Lower Saxony district town of Diepholz.
The Lohne itself flows through the middle of the city center of Diepholz. Near Diepholz Castle it splits into Vorderlohne and Hinterlohne.

Diepholz - In the very south of the Diepholz urban area - in the Diepholzer Bruch near the street Vossen Bruchhof - Mayor Dr. Thomas Schulze and representatives of the council, administration and construction company inaugurated a new bridge on Monday.

It leads over the Herrenlohne and has a load capacity of 40 tons, which is important for agriculture. The old bridge was only designed for twelve tons. Because of its poor condition, the load capacity was recently limited to 7.5 tons. Now the city of Diepholz has invested again in its infrastructure. The total cost of building the bridge is 175,000 euros. The state funding program “Zile” provided a grant of 66,000 euros. The new bridge is 7.25 meters long.
