Bike Touring Highlight
The Jüterbog II district developed in 1890, when the shooting schools were relocated from Berlin to Jüterbog, into a barracks town typical of the imperial era. Today the quarter is characterized by the decay of the military buildings. Since many of the properties are in private hands, the city administration can often do little.

Between 1860 and the old town and the artillery training areas, a large soldiers' settlement was built around the railway line. The many water towers also belong to the complex, since fires that broke out during the target practice often had to be extinguished.
Now many of the unused old red brick military buildings are slowly decaying.
