The buildings belong to the former imperial artillery school in Jüterbog from the end of the 19th century. The area was used by the Wehrmacht until the end of World War II and then taken over by the Soviet Army. After the Allies withdrew in the 1990s, the buildings were gradually refurbished and some were converted into residential buildings.
