Sashuis, an inn and outbuilding converted into a restaurant on the right, its core reportedly dating back to the 17th century, as also evidenced by its location on the map of "de Castelnye van Bornem" by Jeremias Semeelen, 1637. A completely new volume appears on the land registry's change sketches in 1853, including a diagonally positioned and adjacent outbuilding, which apparently protrudes slightly more prominently.

Cycling

The lock is the second-oldest hydraulic engineering structure in Belgium, and the oldest in Flanders. It dates from 1592 and was built by order of Pedro Coloma.
The lock is located in the Old Scheldt, a tributary of the Scheldt. In the 13th century, this section was closed off because the Scheldt's bed shifted.
