The Church of Our Lady of the Olive Tree is located in Largo da Oliveira, Guimarães's most famous medieval square. It is also home to the Padrão do Salado, a 14th-century Gothic building classified as a National Monument in 1910. The temple was rebuilt by King John I, as a result of a vow made to the Virgin of Oliveira for victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota.
