Hiking Highlight
Thirteen kilometers, with the devil symbol on the signs of the Harz National Park as a guide, are to cover the Brocken. But on these thirteen kilometers, a total of about 950 vertical meters have to be managed. With a good condition and appropriate equipment for all weather conditions - even in summer - all hikers should be supplied. The rough chunk climate corresponds to an altitude of over 2,000 m above sea level. in the Alps. From Brocken there is a direct connection to the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg. From Bad Harzburg, the tour goes through fairytale forest, high wire park and Philosophenbach with the Hermann-Löns-Bank to Wodans oak, where the first steep rise to the south in the direction of the Ettersklippe / Molkenhaus follows. At approx. 520 m above sea level. the National Park Waldgaststätte Molkenhaus is reached. Past the adventure playground on the "Braunschweiger Weg" over mountain meadows, a short descent into the Eckertal follows.

On the way of this highlight is the stamp office 169 "Molkenhaus" of the Harzer hiking nobility and who makes a detour to the dam of the Ekertalsperre, there finds the stamp number 1 at the end of the dam.

The Eckertal is very scenic. It is located on the northern edge of the Harz. It is limited in the north and west by the shimmer forest and in the east by the Ecker. About 8 km south-southwest of Eckertal lies the Eckertalsperre. While the village is located in the Harz Nature Park, the Harz National Park lies directly southwest. In 1936, the Wehrmacht established a Munitionsanstalt (muna) of the Luftwaffe, directly northwest of Eckertal. On April 10, 1945, this was completely destroyed by demolition.Source: de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eckertal

Once taken the wrong branch and then taken the shortcut recommended by Kommod. I learn: 1. A broken line does not mean that there is a way. 2. Blackberries, logs and nettles are a serious barrier. 3. The scratches from the tendrils plus the stinging hair of the nettles replace Tigerbalm more than fully. Have fun all day ...

Really nice section for hiking. It is definitely worth it. A few benches to rest are also available.
