    Hiking

Penobscot Mountain (360 m) was the first peak on our six-peak hike in spring in brilliant sunshine, starting and ending at Jordan Pond. The ascent was via the steep Spring Trail and Penobscot Mountain Trail on the granite rock ridge. The other peaks were Cedar Swamp Mountain (287 m), Bald Peak (297 m), Parkman Mountain (287 m), Gilmore Peak (316 m) and Sargent Mountain (419 m).

    Hiking

What a wonderful hike! It starts from the Jordan Ponds House parking lot through the forest almost vertically on the Spring Trail to the Penobscot Mountain Trail, which gradually leads to the Penobscot Summit. Here I experienced an unbelievable natural spectacle. At the beginning of the tour there was still fog, which was torn apart by the clearing weather at the top of the summit, gradually revealing the entire panorama. These moments are priceless. Then we went back along the banks of Jordan Pond. Highly recommended.
