    Beech Mountain is nested between Echo Lake and Long Pond, and from the base of the historic fire tower hikers can see most of the peaks on the western half of the island. The top of the fire tower itself is often closed to the public. This is a great sunset hike, but visitors should be sure to bring lights if hiking during twilight.

    The path from the carpark (0.4m Section) is quite rocky and would not be suitable for people uncomfortable on non-path surfaces. However, the views at the top are worth it
