The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Martin in the small town of Weismain was built as a basilica in 1891. Based on the Martin patronage, it is assumed that the church was founded in the Carolingian period.
The high altar, which fills the entire chancel, was built in 1769/1769. The carpentry work is by Franz Anton Thomas and the sculpture work by Johann Bernhard Kamm. The structure is made of marbled wood with gold-plated rocaille decoration. The altarpiece, painted in 1768/1769 by Johann Joseph Scheubel the Younger, shows the church patron St. Martin as Bishop of Tours in the middle, together with St. James the Elder, the second patron of the parish church, and St. John Nepomuk. The altarpiece is flanked by the white and gold wooden figures of Saints Henry and Kunigunde, the diocese patrons.
