Krüdersheide is a district of Langenfeld. A smaller area belongs politically to Solingen.

The place is located on the northeastern edge of Wiescheid, in Langenfeld (Rhineland), directly on the city limits of Solingen and east of the A3.[1] The Langenfeld-Solingen city boundary separates the Oberste Krüdersheide in such a way that four residential buildings with their outbuildings are located in Solingen's city area, a consequence of the Napoleonic reorganization of communities.[2] The Solingen nature reserve Krüdersheide and Götsche is adjacent to the town.

The etymological meaning of the place name Krüdersheide has not been conclusively clarified. However, there is much to suggest that the word Krüder could mean herbs. Krüder is a spice dealer, pharmacist and herb collector.

The first written mention of the place was in 1488 as Krudersbergh.[5] It was not until 1816 that the Krüdersheide was described as a farming community with 50 inhabitants. The census of the Solingen district from December 1, 1875 under Mayor Richrath showed that 15 residential buildings were habitable, 4 residential buildings were uninhabitable and 16 households in the Krüdersheide residential area.

In the original cadastre of the municipality of Wiescheid, corridor VIII Kreudersheide, from 1829, a distinction was probably made for the first time; in the “Oberste Kreudersheide”, the “Mittelste Kreudersheide” and the “Unterste Kreudersheide”. These are three farms, which form roughly a right-angled triangle, with distances as the crow flies of approx. 300 m (middle - to lower Krüdersheide) and approx. 500 m (top - to lower Krüdersheide). Between 1910 and 1912, the Solingen merchant Eugen Berg had a neo-baroque manor house built on the Solingen side of the Krüdersheide, the so-called Waldhof Hackhausen. Both the manor house and the associated coach house are registered monuments of the city of Solingen.
