The sky is beautifully reflected in the water surface and some ducks make their rounds. Just a nice mood.

The heather pond was redesigned several times from around 1920 to 1990. It now has natural banks and three naturally vegetated islands that give the pond its name. The bird world has good opportunities to breed undisturbed in reeds, reeds and sedge beds and other plants. With a little patience, you can watch mallards, little grebes, Canada geese, pond and white claws or also gray herons and the kingfisher. In summer you can see water bats across the pond hunting flies and mosquitoes at dusk. In the pond itself there are pike, crucian carp, eel and roach, as well as dragonflies and amphibians by the water, of which the green frogs in particular visit the pond in April and May
    Quack meet.

Waters are the treasure of the heathland. Heideweiher, Drei-Insel-Teich, Heidebach and Kovelenbach are wet complemented by many puddles, pools and flooded wetlands.
Even if the water balance of nature is by no means balanced again after three too dry summers, the heather looks almost generously flooded.

In the shelter are observation slits to observe the waterfowl without disturbing them.

A natural heather pond was artificially expanded and designed around 1920. Over the decades the pond has developed into a near-natural still water with numerous reed beds. Many species of birds and rare fish find a home here, on mild summer nights you can see water bats hunting insects.
