The massive three-storey building with high gables in a romantic style was designed in 1898 by the Austrian architect Gerhard Reitmayer for the municipal savings bank. But the bank was never located here, only the initials ES (Elbogener Sparkasse) above the entrance and a bee in the sign annex remind of the original purpose. The building is currently used as a school canteen.
