The castle: The imposing Gothic Loket castle was founded in the 3rd quarter of the 12th century by the Czech king Vladislav II. In the 15th and 16th centuries it was owned by Emperor Sigismund and Graf Schlick, who carried out extensive renovations at the castle. From 1822 to 1947 the castle was mainly used as a prison. Today, in addition to the former dungeons, you can also visit an interesting porcelain collection and the valuable rotunda.
