Of course there is no cow trail in Husum. The sculpture is on the corner of Nordbahnhofstraße and Neustadt. Trade has a long tradition in Husum. Cattle dealers once determined the hustle and bustle of the city. Back then, cows were herded through the oldest pedestrian zone - the "Neustadt". In the Middle Ages it was a center for the cattle trade. Up to 180,000 head of cattle were once handled at the Husum cattle market.
