You can find this former underground quarry via "ordinary maps". Although there are no prohibition signs anywhere, it is not really on the hiking trail and it is not indicated by signs or anything (it is also about 20 meters from this exact spot). The environment does not seem very stable, although you do see that occasionally people walk through the tall grass to the bush that stands on and around it. In any case: it is a former flint quarry that was used for marl in a later period. By the way, you will still find marl in the deep sunken roads during your walk. Speaking of that flint or flint: prehistoric objects made of flint were found in Rukkelingen. Finally: in Bassenge and Wonk there are still former underground marl and flint quarries.

The Grotte des Gofettes has several entrances and exits and has clearly been used as a kind of dumping ground for agricultural equipment and other waste.
