Fort Sint Pieter has stood proudly atop the Sint-Pietersberg for more than 300 years. The main task of the fort was to protect the strategically located city of Maastricht.

Cycling
Fort St. Pieter marks the end of the Pieterpad, Holland's most famous long-distance hiking trail, which starts at Pieterburen in Groningen. The almost 500-kilometer route runs through the eastern provinces to Maastricht and ends at the fort. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful place to end this hike.
