Hiking

The "gateway" to the old town of Treysa and a place steeped in history.
An information sign provides information about the history of the tower, which was temporarily used as a kind of prison. The Totenkirche a few meters away is also worth a visit!

The late-Gothic round tower from the 15th century is the only tower of the city fortifications that has been almost completely preserved. The upper part of the tower, originally called "blunt tower", was used to defend the city fortifications and the lower part as a dungeon. In 1609 a woman accused of witchcraft is said to have been held here.
