The Rur floodplain between Jülich-Barmen and Floßdorf is a nature reserve in which the natural, meandering river course has been partially preserved. Beavers have now resettled here. On the map you can clearly see how the Rur and Altrur meander through the landscape.

May 2026: The main path from Floßdorf to Barmen is usable again. The parallel path "Mühlengracht" past the burial site is still underwater. To see the carpet of bluebells, you have to go a little way north from the new Nulandkreuz on the left path.
