This piece of Rur was straightened at some point. The weir and the numerous oxbow lakes, mostly on the right-hand side, attest to this. These oxbow lakes and the floodplain landscapes are an excellent habitat for many animals, including beavers. You can marvel at the results of the work of beavers in many places, unfortunately the beavers themselves are very shy.
