The Pinakothek der Moderne ("Pinakothek", from the Greek: pínax (genitive: pinakos) = "painting" and thēkē = "memory", "repository") is part of the Munich art area, in which a large number of cultural institutions are grouped together in the surrounding area.Source and more info

Opened in autumn 2002, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich's Maxvorstadt offers a collection of works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Contemporary artists are shown there as well as representatives of the historical avant-garde. In addition, constantly changing exhibitions are presented. The lavish architecture by Stephan Braunfels invites you to stroll and repeatedly opens up new perspectives on the room itself, as well as on the works on display there. There is a café on the ground floor. Also with a few benches outside in summer.
