An original Mackintosh building from 1895. And a very early example of Art Nouveau. Temporarily closed.

The Lighthouse in Glasgow is a significant building by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and is considered his first public building project from 1895.
Originally, it served as an extension of the editorial offices of the Glasgow Herald newspaper, but was later converted into Scotland's centre for design and architecture.
Characteristic is the Mackintosh Tower with its spiral staircase, from which you have a wide view over the city.
Today, the building stands for the connection of architecture, design, and creative industries, while also honouring Mackintosh's work.
