Originally, it served as an extension of the editorial offices of the Glasgow Herald newspaper, but was later converted into Scotland's centre for design and architecture.
Characteristic is the Mackintosh Tower with its spiral staircase, from which you have a wide view over the city.
Today, the building stands for the connection of architecture, design, and creative industries, while also honouring Mackintosh's work.
