The annual hike from the village to Billriff was on the program again today. From the village it went over the promenade to the school, then over the Billstrasse to the Loog. Unfortunately there were still lessons at school, otherwise the walk past the sports field is a worthwhile alternative. Then it went left around the Hammersee, past the keeper's house and the Bill restaurant over the dike to the Billriff. An absolute highlight every year is the hiking trail right along the water until it doesn't go any further. When the weather is good, Borkum appears within reach. Here you can actually always see seals (this time only one) in the water. The long way back to the village, always along the water, is always a challenge - this time at least the ground was quite hard, so you didn't sink too much. All in all an exhausting but beautiful tour.
