The Slovenian Philharmonic has a very rich history and is one of the oldest in the world. It was the successor of the 1701 Academia Philharmonicorum, (this is also on the building), which was the first music association in Slovenia. There were also the composers Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms and the violinist Niccolò Paganini, with her Franz Schubert applied as a music teacher.
