The 13th tour of the Wanderkaiser project begins in the Falkenstein Castle parking lot. Since the parking ticket machine was out of order, we didn't have to pay the otherwise due € 3 for a day ticket. The round trip is very varied and, contrary to the coniferous forests that are otherwise widespread in the Harz, offers a lot of deciduous forest. The hike could also be started from other locations, e.g. from the parking lot of the Gasthaus zum Falken. If you don't walk in the wrong direction as we did, the tour is only 14 km long. The most strenuous part is the Lumpenstieg, a relatively short but very sweaty ascent towards Selkesicht (HWN 204). Here, however, it is worth taking a break with the many opportunities to enjoy the view. There are also opportunities to stop off on the tour, but they are currently only open to a limited extent due to the corona pandemic.

Today the 2nd stage as a test drive for a multi-day tour that I plan to do sometime next year.
The tour is very varied and leads once across Leipzig and then through the legacy of brown coal. The post-mining landscape is always worth seeing.
The tour can also end in Dessau. From there a train goes back to Leipzig every hour.

Today there was finally another tour on the Wanderkaiser project. We started from a free parking lot in Ballenstedt. After a short distance through a residential area, we went to the first stamp, the Bismarktower. The way from the artificial pond to the Ballenstedter Schirm was quite bleak. The roads were broken up by the forest and the area was shaped by cleared forest areas. The way back to Ballenstedt was then more scenic.
The castle in Ballenstedt was then a little highlight, as I was positively surprised by Ballenstedt.
With 4 HWN stamps, the tour was definitely worth it. There is also a special stamp on the castle for the booklet Schlösser und Burgen.

What a contrast program to the resin. With a stiff breeze, the Harle drove from Carolinensiel to the North Sea. Here we could see the offshore islands of Wangerooge and Spiekeroog, although the weather always changed. Then it went back through the salt marshes (national park). We passed a small herd of cows, which luckily we were well disposed towards. Frisian calm 😉Nordsee pure. A dream👍🏻
