Baile Gean Township (Dutch: Village of Good Will) is the reconstruction of a village in the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore, Scotland.
Some of the reconstructed houses are: the weaver's house, the steward's house, the shepherd's house.
A number of general construction principles from that time have always been adhered to.
Life was determined by the available daylight and took place around the open peat fire in the middle of the hut. It was the source of heat for the residents and for cooking and spread some light in the living space.
