"Whitsun storm "Ela" destroyed a lot in Ratingen's Poensgenpark in 2014. Among other things, the old Kastanienallee. Five years later, the reconstruction of the park is making progress, according to the city of Ratingen. The new tulip tree avenue is finished. It replaces the old Kastanienallee. Next year "The maple avenue in Poensgenpark will then be rebuilt. Next year (2020) around 25 maple trees will be planted so that the avenue will be recognizable as such again in the future, according to the city."
