The Laufenbacherhof mill was once a ducal compulsory mill. The mill building was later converted into an apartment for the forester. A document from 1488, in which a Contzen von Laufenbach is named as judge of the Roire (Rohr) court, indicates the old age of the mill. Because Laufenbach has always belonged to the municipality and parish of Wershofen, the miller from Laufenbach, like the miller from the Dreisbach mill, used to deliver trout instead of eggs to the priest in Wershofen at Easter
