The impressive Schoenberg Castle, situated on a wooded hilltop, can be seen from afar. The basic features of the walls date back to the 13th century. At that time, the castle was built to control the trading route (Lautertalstraße). Hiking

The castle cannot be visited from the inside. The palace park is also private. But we could walk across the freshly paved courtyard and see it from the outside. I can only hope that the trail can still be used there. But it looks like it was only closed off because of the construction site.

Status 06/19/2023: The castle is locked. With gates and video surveillance. The hiking trail is blocked. I don't know the official detour. I have corrected the OSM data, this is how the map is adjusted.
