Granary Island in Gdansk, Poland, has been home to numerous granaries since the 13th century. In the 16th century there were as many as three hundred. Today, the Blue Lamb is the only surviving old warehouse. The milk can gate from the years 1517 to 1519 was also preserved. The island was badly damaged in the war in 1945, but some historic buildings, including the milk churn gate, have been preserved. The northern part of the island is currently being redeveloped, integrating the Deo Gloria granary and ruins into the modern design. Hotels are also being built. A footbridge to the Long Bridge was completed in April 2020, allowing tourists access to the northern part of the island. The bridge has a rotating section to accommodate ship traffic.
