Das Naturschutzgebiet Großes Torfmoor im Norden des Wiehengebirges ist das größte noch verbliebene Moorgebiet in ganz Nordrhein-Westfalen.

02.04.2026 - Wittekindsweg 2: Runde von Naturfreundehaus Vehrte
Der erste Teil - fast zwei Drittel - ziemlich langweilig durch den Wald auf Forstwegen, die recht matschig sind. Zwischendurch geht es dann leider auch mal querfeldein. Aber Rehe und Hasen habe ich in der Ferne gesehen. Sie sind leider schnell weg gewesen im Gegensatz zu einem Buchfinken, der geduldig gewartet hat, bis ich das Foto gemacht hatte.
