In 1815, Meisenheim was only briefly occupied by the Prussians. To the right of the Glanes was Bavarian territory. In the German-German war, Meisenheim then became Prussian in 1867.
Today the original border signs Bavaria (above) and Prussia (below) can be seen on the stone, separated by the symbolically represented river Glan.
