The Moselle lock near St. Aldegund was built between 1959 and 1964 and opened in June 1964. The St. Aldegund barrage on the Moselle near St. Aldegund and Neef in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate is under the administration of the Moselle-Saar-Lahn Waterways and Shipping Authority.
