Trittau Watermill

Idyllically located in the middle of Trittau is the old watermill. It was built in 1701 on the old mill square and is the landmark Trittaus. Until the end of the 19th century, the surrounding farmers were only allowed to grind their grain here. Since 1963, no grain has been processed in the Trittau watermill. The building, which is more than 300 years old, today houses a cultural center with events and ongoing exhibitions of contemporary art.

From here you can drive on different routes in the Hahnheide, beautiful area for cycling and also MTB-he get their money (Hahnheider lookout tower) or who likes it more comfortable drives only a small piece in the city center to Eiscafe Griem.

The gallery in the Trittau watermill shows exhibitions of contemporary art in the watermill and temporarily in the foyer of the adjacent studio house.
The gallery presents up to five exhibitions a year, mainly solo exhibitions of young, contemporary artistic positions from northern Germany and once a year the final exhibition of the scholarship recipients of the art scholarship of the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Stormarn.
