The Hahnheide is a beautiful nature reserve of around 1,500 hectares near Trittau in Stormarn Switzerland. Here you will find wonderful old trees of pines, beeches and spruces.

The forest area is overthrown by the "Long Otto". From this observation tower you have an impressive view over Stormarn Switzerland. The 27 meter high tower is located on the 99 meter high "Großer Hahnheider Berg". With good visibility you can even see the Hamburg TV tower in the distance.

The long Otto has been a very beautiful observation tower for decades - it was built in 1974 and rebuilt in 2001 with a height of 27 meters. I've known him since the late 1970s and always enjoy coming back here - the view is fantastic.

Anyone who manages the very steep driveway without electronic support deserves a lot of respect
