The cross in the middle of the stone marked the exact route of the border to the GDR.

Right next to it there is the broken remains of a white marking post with a red head that was set by the Federal Border Guard (BGS). For precise and clearly visible marking of the border so that no one accidentally runs into the GDR and is collected by the border troops.
