The Kaatsbeek has given its name to a nature reserve in Diepenbeek: the Caetsweyers. They are located east of the Dauteweyers. In Diepenbeek, the Kaatsbeek also flows into another stream, the Stiemerbeek, which then flows into the Demer, a little further on, also in Diepenbeek. The stream rises in a valley between Genk and Zutendaal. During a nature walk in Diepenbeek, there is a very good chance that you will pass the Kaatsbeek here and follow the path next to it.

Past the Diepenbeek hamlet of Lutselus and the Caetsweyers and Dorpsbemden-Pomperik nature reserves, the Kaatsbeek runs parallel to the Demer for some time, but flows into the Stiemerbeek, just before it in turn flows into the Demer.
