On September 26, 2015, the ceremonial unveiling of a memorial plaque for Robert Clauß took place at his birthplace on Elsterstrasse. The Berga Local History Society aims to create a lasting memory of a famous seafarer in his birthplace. The plaque depicts the captain's favorite ship, the "Priwall," sailing with its rigging fully set.
