The Witches' Tower (actually: Hessenturm) from the 14th century was part of Bad Homburg's city fortifications. The tower that remains today is a reconstruction that was built at the beginning of the 19th century in connection with the construction of the Ritter von Marx Bridge. The bridge, built in 1903-05, spans the old town, the castle square was closed off with the tower and a corresponding "bridge keeper's house" and an entrance to the city center was created.

The tower on Ritter Von Max Brücken Str. is an impressive “structure”, even if it is not our most popular cycling route. In my opinion, the tower is more impressive when it is illuminated in the evening mood...
