Today's building goes back to a new steel construction built in 1929 to replace the railway bridge originally built in 1864. However, the bridge was blown up by German troops at the end of World War II, on April 7, 1945. The blast destroyed several houses in the area. Reconstruction took place in 1952-54. Today's rusted installation offers a wonderful photo opportunity when walking along the Weser!
