In addition to the floral splendor, the State Garden Show has also set itself the task of recreating the former city of Corvey in this area. This squared timber construction was used again here to accommodate the line of sight of the city's former main street. She ran to the Weser and crossed the river over the Corvey Weser Bridge, which gave the medieval town great importance due to the few bridges over the Weser at the time.

Hiking

The Hellweg once led through Corvey and over the Weser to Eastern Europe. The fact that the Corveyer built their own bridge was a thorn in the side of the Bishop of Paderborn and the Höxterans, since they also had a bridge. Thus the former town of Corvey was destroyed. Gradually, however, more and more ruins are uncovered and the old city is made visible again. The wooden walkways to the State Garden Show symbolize the course of the trade route through the city to the former Weser Bridge.
