Bad Zwischenahn is idyllically situated on the Zwischenahner Meer in the middle of the Ammerland park landscape and is the favorite destination of Oldenburg cyclists. The 17 km long path to the spa town has the railway embankment as a faithful companion and always allows new perspectives on e.g. on classicist town houses of the Gründerzeit or through hanging leafy tunnels bordering trees and romantic willow windows.
You return through the Petersfehn fen settlement and through the Wildenloh: The settlements typical of the region belong to a wave of colonization in the 17th century, which served to develop the moor areas. It goes along green, sparsely populated residential streets, canals, moor meadows and peat cutting fields. The last few kilometers lead through the Bloherfelde district, which is characterized by green spaces, back to the center of Oldenburg.
