The Engelsmeer is romantically situated - a still very original moor lake. There are many plants and animals worth protecting here. Therefore, it has been a nature reserve since 1938. The area, which is only around 2 hectares in size, is home to a moor lake with a wide silting belt in places and a surrounding birch forest on drained raised bog. Lots of waterfowl can be spotted with binoculars.
