Het Nonnengoed is a sub-area of the Durmemeersen nature reserve and is managed by the Durme nature association vzw. The meadow was made wetter by placing a small dam in the main canal. In addition to the water birds that visit this reserve during the winter months, it is also the sleeping place of curlews.
